Great destination for scout troops, youth groups, homeschoolers and families of all ages.
The main attractions for Camp Comer are the cool summer temperature, beautiful Lake Republic, rocks, and a mountain atmosphere. Camp Comer has outstanding programming and facilities and provides Scouts with five merit badge periods every day.
Pinhoti National Recreation Trail
335 Miles In Alabama & Georgia
The Pinhoti Trail is a long-distance trail, 335 miles long, located in the United States within the states Alabama and Georgia. The trail's southern terminus is on Flagg Mountain (the southern most Appalachian peak that rises over 1,000 feet) which is located near Weogufka, Alabama. The trail's northern terminus is where it joins the Benton MacKaye Trail / Appalachian Trail.
The Pinhoti Trail is a part of the Eastern Continental Trail and the Great Eastern Trail, both very long-distance US hiking trails connecting multiple states. Most of the Georgia Pinhoti Trail is in the Chattahoochee National Forest.

Space Camp - Huntsville
U.S. Space & Rocket Center
The camp provides residential and day camp educational programs for children in various age groups and adults. These programs include space oriented camp programs, aircraft themed Aviation Challenge camps, and outdoor oriented X-Camp programs, with the intent to promote science, engineering, aviation and exploration. Space Camp additionally uses rides or attractions that are on site at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center as instructional tools.
Summer Camp - 2000 New Facility [TAC]
Newly opened in Summer 2000 with modern facilities, hot water, equestrian center, shootingsports, and a complete Cope Course featuring 18 stations. 50-acre Crane Lake with two beaches (one for swimming and one for boating) is popular for both sailing and kayaking. Taylor Dawson Environmental Trail is par of a large 5-mile hiking trail surrounding the camp that includes several interpretive areas.

Cathdral Caverns State Park
Massive Cave Complex
The first thing you notice about Cathedral Caverns is the massive entrance. The huge opening measures 126 feet wide and 25 feet high. And it gets even better. Inside the cavern, you will find Big Rock Canyon, Mystery River and some of the most beautiful formations Mother Nature has ever created. Among them, you will see Stalagmite Mountain, The Frozen Waterfall and Goliath, a huge stalagmite column that reaches the ceiling of the cave some 45 feet above!

BSA Black Warrior Council
Administering Boy Scouts of America scouting programs for western Alabama. The Black Warrior Council office is located in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and the council's name refers to Chief Tuskaloosa whose name means Black Warrior.
In 1925, and again in 1932, the Walker-Lamar Council was formed in Jasper. In 1938 that council was reformed into the current Black Warrior Council.
BSA Mobile Area Council
Serving over 7,500 youth in the Southwest Alabama Counties of Baldwin, Clarke, Mobile and Washington. The Council spans from the waters of the Gulf of Mexico to the pine forests of Clarke County. Alabama's entire coastal area of sugar white sand beaches fall within the Council service area.

BSA Tukabatchee Area Council
Formed originally in 1919 as the Montgomery Council, their current council shoulder patch, includes fleur-de-lis represents the BSA within the heart to show Montgomery's claim as the "Heart of Dixie." It hosts the Alibamu Lodge Order of the Arrow Scouting Fraternity.
BSA Chattahoochee Council
Chattahoochee Council serves Scouts in Southwest Georgia and Southeast Alabama, with the Council office located in Columbus, Georgia. The council's name refers to the Chattahoochee River, which flows through Georgia, Alabama, and Florida. (For Alabama this covers the Chambers, Lee and Russell Counties.)
BSA Choctaw Area Council
Choctaw Area Council serves youth in east Mississippi and west Alabama, with the council office located in Meridian, Mississippi. The Choctaw Area Council camp is Camp Binachi, and the council's name refers to the Choctaw nation. (This Council covers Choctaw County in southwest Alabama.)
BSA Gulf Coast Council
The BSA Gulf Coast Council serves over 20,000 youth in traditional Scouting and in Learning for Life programs for 11 counties of the Florida panhandle and 3 counties in Alabama (Escambia, Covington and Conecuh). The council office located in Pensacola, Florida.
