    The Order of the Arrow (OA) is the national honor society of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). It uses American Indian-styled traditions and ceremonies to bestow recognition on scouts selected by their peers as best exemplifying the ideals of Scouting. The society was created in 1915 as a means of reinforcing the Scout Law and to provide support to local scouting projects.

    This lodge is the OA Chapter for this Council.

    This big event is always held on the third saturdsy in September. Prepare now for a great time on the Mountain Top! This event will be a big test of backpacking, camping, cooking and other outdoorsman survival skills. All young men will have the opportunity to complete challenging tasks and prepare for real world experiences.

    Arizona High Adventure

    This big event is held every odd year (since 1993) during spring break in the Mogollon Rim Wilderness.

    They were men of great character and integrity who risked all they had to blaze the trail to the American West. Approximately 3,000 mountain men ranged the mountains between 1820 and 1840. They explored Arizona's rivers and mountains, making friends with the Native Americans. Mesa District Varsity Scouts is the primary organizer of this event.

The big difference between Webelos and Boy Scouts is that BSA Troop 16 is actually run by its boy leaders.     The Thunderbird District holds two Camporees annually, and provides annual Pinewood Derby races, Webelos Crossover, Merit Badge Round-ups, and a Mountain Man Rendezvous. We encourage participation in the Scouting for Food drive, Scout-O-Rama and the Cub, Webelos and Boy Scout Summer Camps.
