Mt. Alvernia Monastery Ruins
Atop 206 ft. Mt. Alvernia are the remains of a one-man monastery built in the 1940's by Father Jerome. Formerly a Anglican priest that converted to Catholicism. Inagua Island is the third largest island in The Bahamas. It is best known for its large flocks of shy pink flamingos which reside in the Islands' vast national park. Over 60,000 alone live in the Bahamas National Trust Reserve.
