    As the trail gets steeper, the landscape changes from thick forests to barren moonscape. Frequently you can experience all four seasons in a single day's climb. And your reward is a wide variety of the best mountain top views in the USA.

    But Climbing any mountain that extends over 14,000 feet above sea level is not easy. Your legs ache and your lungs scream for air. It is the ultimate test of physical endurance and mental stamina.

    This club maintains a website with a complete list of 14ers peaks and trailhead maps for each of these high adventure treks.

    Need a route description to help you climb one of these great peaks? They are here too. Each route contains detailed directions, maps, satellite imagery, elevation profile, and photos taken during an ascent. It's an Online 14er Guidebook that's frequently updated. Look for new additions in the "Updates" section of the Forum.

    BSA Troop 88 - Parker CO

    Every summer thie Boy Scout unit sends out a group of over 30 clibmers to conquer one of Colorado's tall peaks. On Aug 11, 2012, this group summitted Grays Peak (Elev 14,270). They prepared for this by camping overnight at Arapahoe Basin Ski Area and then driving 15 miles to the trailhead.

    Physical Prepartion

    To climb a 14er, requires one to be in top physical shape. You should follow a rigorous year round training schedule. You should also test your self on a mountain of lesser elevation.

Besides the often-climbed standard routes, the guide describes many alternative and technical routes, making it the best book for climbers and hikers of all skill levels.
