Kapiolani Park is found at the end of Kalakaua Ave, just before you reach Diamond Head.

Queen Kapiolani Hibiscus Garden
Open 24 hours daily, it is located behind the Honolulu Zoo at Paki and Monsarrat Avenues. Visitors can stroll pathways amongst gardens of hibiscus and other tropical flowers. The gardens are noted for the collection of 14th century Kahuna stones from Tahiti.

Waikiki Aquarium

Founded in 1904, the Waikiki Aquarium is the third oldest aquarium in the United States and has been part of the University of Hawaii since 1919. It sits on a choice location next to a living reef on the Waikiki shoreline.

Over 2,500 living marine organisms, plants, fish and animals are on display including a close-up view of reef sharks, living coral, Hawaiian monk seals, sea jellies and a wide range of colorful reef fish. The Aquarium is been given special acknowledgement for its very impressive collection of reef life exhibits.

The Aquarium sponsors a number of special programs including reef walks, overnights, concerts, and Aquarium sponsored travel programs.

They are located at the east end of Waikiki Beach just before Diamond Head. The No. 2 City Bus passes every 15 minutes by most Waikiki resort hotels bound directly for the Aquarium.

U.S. Army Museum of Hawaii

Diamond Head State Monument

Its name comes from the volcanic crystals that 19th-century sailors mistook for diamonds. A rock 3/4 mile trail from the interior to the summit rim offers visitors a terrific panoramic view of Honolulu. But bring a flashlight to access the dark tunnels and staircases.
