Crystal Cove State Park
3.5 miles of beach and 2,000 acres of undeveloped woodland, which is popular for hiking and horseback riding. The offshore waters are designated as an underwater park. Crystal Cove is used by mountain bikers inland and scuba and skin divers underwater. The beach is popular with swimmers and surfers. The area is located between Corona Del Mar and Laguna Beach on the Pacific Coast Highway.

Aliso & Wood Canyons Wilderness Park
4,000 acres preserve of coastal canyons. Equestrian, hiking and biking trails. Within the park lands are mature oaks, sycamores, and elderberry trees, two year round streams and over 30 miles of official trails.

California Coastal National Monument
Established in 2000, the California Coastal National Monument runs the entire length of the California coast (1,100 miles) between Oregon and Mexico, extends 12 nautical miles from the shoreline, and encompasses thousands of BLM administered islands, rocks, exposed reefs, and pinnacles above mean high tide. These provide forage and breeding grounds for significant populations of coastal birds and sea mammals.

Bolsa Chica State Beach
164 acres about 3 miles north of Huntington Beach on Coast Highway (SR-1). One of the best features here is an observation deck that reaches well over a inland salt-water tidal lagoon. You can easily observe a lot of aquarium species in their real environment including sea slugs and tide-pool inhabitants. Other activities include: fishing, bike trails and swimming.
