127 acre botanical garden with trees and schrubery arranged by continent of origin.
The Arboretum offers many classes, programs, seminars, lectures, and other educational
resources for people of all ages. It also hosts many horticulture-related shows & expositions.
Also the California Philharmonic features Summer Concerts at the Arboretum.
Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area

Location: From I-210 in Upland go north on Mountain Ave to Mount Baldy;
Mt Baldy is the Largest and Steepest Resort in Southern California. 26 Runs spanning 3 Mountains covering 800 Acres with 2,100 Vertical Feet located only 45 miles from Los Angeles!
During the snow season we are open for skiing, snowboarding, scenic rides and snow play everyday (weather and snow conditions permitting).
So. California Mountain Ski Resorts
There are six major ski resort areas operating in the San Bernardino Mountains, less than one hour away from the
greater metropolitan area. Activities offer include traditional alpine skiing, snowboarding, family winter fun zones, ski schools
and more. Ski season usually runs from December to April. And during the off-season,
these mountain areas are also a great place to visit to enjoy suberb scenic vistas.

Carlyle E. Linder Equestrian Park is located on Glendora Mountain Road and Boulder Springs.
Facilities include Riding rink, riding trails, and parking area.
Claremont Hills Wilderness Park

This wilderness park is located north of the city, with an entrance at the north end of Mills Avenue.
It is primarily a wilderness preserve with rugged inaccessible terrain.
A system of fire roads provides for hiking, biking, walking leashed dogs, and horse riding. There are no other improvements within the park.
Claremont Wildlands Conservancy
- a non-profit land conservancy composed of local residents who are deeply concerned about preserving wild lands and the plants and animals they sustain.
Diamond Bar Skate Park

The City of Diamond Bar's 10,000 square foot skate park is a great place to pop Ollies, grind rails, and practice kick-flips.
Diamond Bar Recreation Center

The new facility, located in picturesque Summitridge Park, is surrounded by breathtaking views of the San Gabriel Valley, colorful gardens, look-out points to enjoy the beautiful vistas, and a walking path that will connect with several trails leading to the center.
This 22,000 sf facility includes banquet rooms, crafts rooms and rec rooms for for youth recreational programs such as gymnastics and dance.
Mt SAC Wildlife Sanctuary
The school has a 15 acre Wildlife Sanctuary since 1964, that supports a large variety of native species of birds, mammals, and insects.
The Sanctuary supports a natural stream and a pond which has become a home and visitation spot for many bird species.
Frank G. Bonelli Regional Park

This park has a 250-acre lake for swimming, water skiing, wind surfing, and sailing. The lake is also stocked with
trout, bluegill, catfish, and largemouth bass. Raging Waters, a water theme park, is located at the south end of the lake.
There are boat rentals, hot tubs, an equestrian center and even a wedding chapel to rent! Other recreational amenities
include: recreational vehicle camp sites, trails for hiking, biking and horseback riding, play equipment, gazebos, and
group rental picnic areas.
Industry Hills Expo Center

The Grand Arena is the centerpiece of the Industry Hills Expo Center, a meticulously maintained private 175-acre gated facility.
Other recent additions and improvements to this arena include an electronic scoreboard, extensive lighting and speaker systems.
The all-weather Grand Arena can accommodate both indoor and outdoor events year-round, including horse shows, dog shows, and concerts.
The Grand Arena is open on all sides and its hilltop location provides dramatic city views.
Pico Rivera Bicentennial Park

Pico Rivera is one of the few cities which provide facilities for horse boarding stables (168 horse stalls available).
The Bicentennial Park and Equestrian Center complex is located on 60 acres of land at the north end of the City.
Adjacent to Bicentennial Park is the City´s 6,000 seat Sports Arena. Famous for its Mexican rodeos (chareadas) and Latin entertainment,
the Pico Rivera Sports Arena is a popular recreation spot for the Los Angeles area Hispanic community.
San Gabriel Canyon Off-Highway Vehicle Area [OHV]

San Gabriel Canyon OHV Area offers up to 150 acres of diverse off-road opportunities. Water crossings, rocks, dirt roads and sand hills are some of the seasonally challenging experiences you will find.
San Gabriel Dam was completed in 1939 by the Los County Flood Control District, and is part of one of the most extensive flood control systems in the world.
The dam stands 365 feet above the canyon bottom, is 1,520 feet in length, and 2,100 feet thick at its base.
Santa Fe Dam Recreation Area

836 acre reserve facility that has a 70-acre lake for sailing, swimming and fishing. The lake is stocked with bass, trout and catfish.
Other features of the park include: a popular children's water play area (open during summer), picnic areas,
trails for biking and hiking, and campsites (for youth groups). Electric boats, rowboats and paddle boats are available to rent.
A tackle and bait shop is also located in the park.
Schabarum Regional Park

640-acre wilderness park is comprised of open space and natural areas and contains picturesque canyons and rolling hills for hiking, biking and horseback riding.
The park contains coastal sage scrub vegetation which provides a variety of plants and wildlife to observe. There is also
an eighteen-station fitness trail. Other park features include: an equestrian center, picnic areas, soccer fields, and playgrounds.
Whittier Narrows Recreation Area

This 1400-acre park provides fishing lakes, comfort stations, picnicking areas, playgrounds, a nature center,
an equestrian facility, trails, a multipurpose athletic complex, a military museum, soccer fields, volleyball courts, and archery, skeet, pistol and trap ranges.
Tennis courts are also provided and include a pro shop. Rentals are available for boats, surreys, bikes and group area picnics.
Special events include carnivals, festivals and dog shows.
Camp Trask - BSA Camp SGVC

There are lots of reasons to come to Trask: The new dining hall, great swimming pool, archery range, Fort Rotary, and outdoor amphitheater for campfire programs.
The silence in camp is broken only by the sound of the year-round stream which flows through camp. There are no city lights, so you can see the stars at night.
Staff provides weekend camping programs for cub scouts and boy scouts with merit badge sessions for
shooting sports and scout crafts.

Firestone Scout Reservation

Firestone Scout Reservation is nestled in Tonner Canyon just east of SR-57 between Brea and Diamond Bar, California.
Facilities include wilderness trails, archery and gun range, orienteering, camping and wildlife.
Popular large outdoor wilderness that is freeway accessible to most of Southern California.
Firestone has sites for small groups as well as those needing space for over 1,000 people.
Intimate tree covered settings to large open fields await to provide the perfect private location for your activity.
Facilities are available for use by registered BSA groups, and other non-profit groups serving youth,
including Girl Scouts, Schools, and Church groups.
