The Southern California wildfires of 2003 have been extinquished, but not without repurcussions for local mountain wilderness area and state parks. A number of these in the mountain regions of Ventura, Los Angeles, San Bernardino and San Diego counties suffered some loss, we recommend that you call ahead of time to verify arrangements for camping or any other outdoor activity in those areas. It is expected that in a few years most of these areas will recover.
