Widely acclaimed as the most beautiful gardens in The South, it was Created by railroad heir Archer M. Huntington and his sculptor wife, Anna Hyatt Huntington in the 1930's.

Located on a former rice and indigo plantation that has been transformed into an amazing display of moss-hung oak trees, dogwoods, azaleas and other plantlife. There over 2,000 species of exotic flora, much of it in bloom from April to September.

The 18th-century mansion now houses the garden museum. On the property are over 500 sculptures by 19th-century and contemporary artists. There is a sculpture garden by an interior pool and fountain.

Also look for the wildlife park featuring two aviaries, otter pond, alligator swamp, nature trails and picnic area.
