Authentically-costumed volunteers will conduct a number of pioneer activities at this recreation of an early pioneer village. Visitors will see quilting, weaving on a loom from the pioneer period, woodstove bread baking and butter churning (with samples for everyone). Also watch for blacksmiths, furniture makers, doll-makers, and see how the Deseret News use to get printed just one page at a time. Children’s games will be played in one of the parlors and guests can also take the horse-drawn guided wagon tour to see the many historic structures gathered here.

Brigham Young Farm House
The Brigham Young Farm House is the original structure that was built on the Mormon leader’s 823-acre farm in what is now the Sugarhouse area of the Salt Lake Valley. Brigham Young never lived at the house, but the farm was used in experimental agriculture to determine which crops would survive and thrive in the unfamiliar climate and soil conditions of Utah.

Heirloom Fruit Orchard
Utah was once dotted with hundreds of orchards bearing a variety of delicious fruit, many planted by immigrants from Germany, Norway, Great Britain and Switzerland. Unfortunately, many of these orchards have been razed in favor of housing developments and commercial ventures.

This Is The Place Monument
Marking the spot where the Mormon Pioneers first entered the Salt Lake Valley and marks the end of the 1,300-mile Mormon trail. It was here that Brigham Young stopped his carriage in July 1847 and, after surveying the desert valley near the shores of the Great Salt Lake, declared, "This is the right place."

• Mormon Handicraft - encouraging home industry and the preservation of pioneer skills and crafts, priding itself on mixing yesterday’s heirlooms with tomorrow’s treasures.
• Deseret Village ZCMI Store - This ZCMI building was built in Manti, Utah in 1858. The merchandise in this store is as authentic to the Pioneer period of 1847 to 1869 as possible.
