Shoshone Forest was established in 1891 by presidential proclamation
as the nation's frest forest reserve.
2.5 million acre protected forest that borders both
Yellowstone National Park
and Bridger-Teton National Forest.
The area encompasses parts of Beartooth, Absaroka and Wind River mountains
as well as the highest mountain in Wyoming - Gannett Peak.
